I had the pleasure of being the official photographer at the Dog Day Event benefitting The Center for Older Adults. What a fun time! So many dogs and their people came out for the parade and I had the pleasure of photographing a bunch of them. We had a bit of a problem with the rain, but, luckily, it cleared up.We also gave away two door prizes… A session! And a gift print. Congrats again to the winners!

Mufasa

Oh Moof…. This guy was just hilarious! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much during a session before… These next two photos sum up two reoccurring themes in our session:

Mufasa sliding on his belly towards me as fast as he could (I need a video.. It was SO funny) and Mufasa running around the yard (every which way) as fast as he could. And “as fast as he could” is SUPER fast! He tucks his legs under and goes! Add all this to the fact that he’s full grown but acts and looks like a puppy… And you get one adorable silly little guy. (don’t his ears just kill you?? Adorable!! Not to mention those long gangly puppy legs…)

Pretty pretty packaging

Back at the end of March, I shared a peek of what I was sending off to some of my fabulous clients on facebook… I didn’t want to show exactly what was inside though- It would ruin the surprise! And I love surprises. If I had known what a reaction it would get out of you guys (my fellow industry friends) then I would have waited. I thought you would have some interest, (so I already had this post planned) just not quite that much.

But, your wait is over. You can take a look at what’s inside, and if you want, even create some of these for your clients. Who wouldn’t love to get something so pretty in their mail box?

Notice my gorgeous swirly paw……. (which, as I’m sure you know, I adore. Renee captured it so perfectly! Renee had also warned me about posting too many photos and therefore making the blog slow… I was like “Who, me? Post too many photos? Ha! That’s funny!” Um….. Renee, if you’re reading this please don’t scroll down the rest of this post, okay? Thanks. C’mon, you can’t have too many photos of pretty packaging! )

And there you go- A neat little info card and a stack of personalized referral cards. Yep, these babies are for my referral program! If you look closely, you’ll see it says “Spread The Love” at the tipity top and the rest details the whys and hows of everything. All the copy is written by me, but, if writing just isn’t your thing, one of my fave photography shops Design Aglow offers really nice looking templates for this sort of thing.

I had a lot of fun taking photos of everything. I had never truly tried product photography, and can I just say that I love it? I do. So please forgive me if there are too many photos. When I had shared these on facebook, one of you asked if the envelopes were for cds. While they are not, you could definitely use them for that. I, however, prefer something a little bit sturdier for something as important as a cd so I found myself some equally as fab cd cases. I’ll be sharing those sometime soon. (as well as the rest of my packaging, etc. Be sure to keep an eye out.)

Teensy Tiny Nano

Remember Abby? Tiny tiny 6 pound Abby? Well, she’s been overthrown for title of “teensiest”. Yep- Miss Nano here weighs in at about FOUR pounds. So small! And so adorable… With a lot of that small dog nervous/excited energy- Always lifting up one of those little feet! Our session took place in the morning in downtown Hudson. At first, it was really cold… So, Nano started the day off by cuddling with her mom. Wish I could fit Topaz under my sweater- Lol!

Luckily, it warmed up pretty fast so she was able to go it on her own. Thanks for the great session girls! See you soon.

Meet Jasper

My wonderful new little boy! If you follow me on facebook or twitter, you’ve already seen his puppy adorableness. He arrived on Saturday and has been stealing hearts ever since. I am genuinely amazed at how easily and how well he has integrated himself in our lives and vice versa… Topaz already adores him and thinks he is just about the best playmate ever. He of course adores her as well… He looks just a little mini Topaz running around. One of these days someone is going to ask me if I shrunk my dog. At first, his name started out as “Tigger”. And while that was quite fitting given he was bouncing all over the place, it just didn’t quite fit. It wasn’t until his 4th day home that I finally figured out what did… And Jasper, is perfect for him. Not only that, but, it matches Topaz’s name as well. There’s a gem called Snowflake Jasper that looks just like his coat…. Once I found that out, I knew Jasper was the one.

Besides being so darn cute, Jasper is also one smart little dude… We’ve been working hard on his commands including, Sit, Down, High Five, Spin, and of course, heel. Come and wait are still works in process. He’s also a polite little thing… Everyone comments on how calm he is… And while he does have his “crazy puppy!!!” moments, he is an extremely calm little pup. That’s nice- and needed- to balance out my crazy girl.

I just love this little guy so much… Maybe you can begin to see why in these photos.
